The galaxy of stars included everyone from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Aparna Sen, filmmaker from Israel Amos Gitai, Chief Secretary to the CM, Sanjoy Mitra, ADG (Law and Order) Anuj Sharma, Arup Biswas, Venky Mysore, Mayor, Salt Lake, Krishna Chakraborty and Tollywood actors like Raima Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma, Indrani Haldar, Abir Chatterjee and Dev, to the badshaah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Raima made a stylish entry and posed for the cameras, while Konkona looked svelte in her red sari.
Delighted to have people from Bollywood, Tollywood and world cinema under one roof, host Srinjoy said, “I am grateful to our CM for having given me the opportunity to host the inaugural dinner for the third consecutive year.” Shah Rukh, on his part, managed to make even the who’s who of Kolkata go all starry-eyed.
Such is the fan following that while a class XII student sat in a corner shedding tears for not getting to hug SRK, others, some her mother’s age, were surrounding him at the table he sat with our CM and hung on to every word he uttered. But the most excited and genuinely thrilled among those present were the little kids who ran from entrance to entrance waiting for the star’s grand entry.

While SRK and Didi kept the audience glued, other guests enjoyed the delectable spread. Quite a few opted to have a relaxed interaction with friends away from the limelight and some even trooped to the balcony.
